wahhhhhhoooo, a few Setlla's & LO:FI is back on the air for everyones entertainment...
Nick Boyle the latest LO:FI covert & recruit is out & about
& has a very entertainin interview with some visiting
foreigners... 1 from Ireland and another from Belgium,
& amazingly the F word is only used a couple of
times... Luke from Master Pilot & Funk N Slow Cuts
gives us some insights into being a local artist & the road you
walk done... Karen gives us the low-down on being a British chick
in GodZone & backs up with a few blonde moments...
Nick while looking for a place to relieve himself then discovers the
beautiful voice of Ana... She sings live, unaccompanied in the
studio & we realise LO:FI has just found its 1st talent... A
beautiful song, & we also grab a version of her latest single that
she's recorded down at the Hub... Listen out for it from
Monday... It's bloody terrific...
have a good Friday & go hard, only 2 days till Monday... see you then...
04.11.05
Aggggghhhh it's Friday, marvel-bloody-ous....
Lotek play us track 4, the shortest 1 in their chilled jazz
collection... We welocme Helen Richards as our 1st LO:FI Garage
guest.... Gareth then spills Helen's herbal tea all over the desk, the
equipment, & Helens' gorgeous WHITE pants....
Interview Helen & find her fav colour is black or yellow, & that she thinks Paul is an attractive buy BUT ...
that's always the killer.... Also talk of what would you call a
spray that actually worked in hiding the smell of your pooh...
Bruce Melton kicks in with some great pop, with Flame... Helen is
then sent out & about & does a fantastic road report...
Including interviewing a lady dressed in shocking PINK for their
celebrate 70's day... LO:FI listenership rockets to 7, but then
we remember Geoff & Lois don't listen to us anymore so the numbers
are down to 5... Ben from the coffee cart hits us with his joke,
so far this week 2 dirty and 2 clean... This mornings joke is very un
PC & about coppers, very bloody funny though...
Joseph Auer is our boffin track for the Friday morning... crazy noises,
ringing bells, scratchy thingys make a great track all in all....
Try to call Mr Sherlock but he's goit his bloody answerphone on...
bastard... Then try to get a blood pressure readin"Look after the little creatures outsidg from the
other Geoff, unfortunately "LIFE IS A RACE" & he hasn't had time to
take a reading...
Random rock track is Superhero from Mother Guru....
COnversations with our guest include why Princess Leia from Star
Wars was a spunk, Helen also comes up with a T-Shirt, "LOOK AFTER THE
LITTLE CREATURES OUTSIDE" (even on the shirt it will be written
with an English accent, recycling is discussed, man wrecking the planet
& we finish up with Deluxe...
Have a great weekend & remember LO:FI is LO:FI .
03.11.05
Right then here we go...
Welcome to a beautiful morning... Church bells set the tone as
usual & we realise there is a car passing in the
background... Summer Offensive kick off with
Preacher, then something a little slower with Mystic Princess from
the LO:FI King of pop, Bruce Melton...
Weird world news, Jennifer Aniston bruised during raunchy sex
scenes, Paul McCartney's kids ask him to turn 64 quietly, cop loses gun
at school in America, & witches perform hold-ups in
banks... Local rap hip hopper Desvious gets going with The
SHit You Shouldn't Do... Then pop punk with Not OK & the
Truth...
Ben from the Coffee Cart joins us for the mornin joke, a doozey of a
blonde joke thats clean enough to tell your mother... request other
blonde jokes be texted to Paul 0274793389 or Gareth on
021781783... Actually ask for people to send us any crap that
they've got to the cellphones, identify the mystery texter...
Waste of Magic track played by Grand Atlantic. Then footy review
from last nights 6 a side game with "The 7 soccer screts that transform
players into superstars".. Gareth tells us why his finger is
munted & that he used to play SOCKEY.... Paul tells us why he's the
best goalkeeper in Nelson... Then some jazz with Lotek, the well
named Track 3...
YAHOOOO mystery blonde text number 1, well it's not a mystery it's from
Nik, but it's bloody funny. "A blonde walks in2 a sex shp & looks
around @ the dildo counter. Ill have that 1, the tartan 1 with th
big white top she says. Thats not 4 sale said the manager. thats
my thermos flask. Great joke & i believe this takes out
listener to a world breaking 5, go LO:FI..
Think that we've got a mystery caller who keeps hanging up til
gareth realises he's the 1 calling us, hahaha muffler for that.
Quick plug for State Cinema 6 & review (havent seen it yet) but
push for FREE movie tickets on Saw 2, the 1st was bloody great,
hopefully the 2nd is as good. After playing jazz we call Geoff
Lawes to get a blood pressure reading & find out exactly why "Life
is a Race", Geoffs answer is amazing & sounds quite formulaic, like
he has prepared & worked everything out.. We all decide to print
Lifes A Race T-Shirts, look for them soon in the shop...
A bit of old school rock with Mother Guru Vocyphorous... then, well who knows - it's all part of the LO:FI Garage experience...
Gareth proves he can use a phone & calls Daz, ex lead guitarist
from Mother Guru in Melboune.. Considering it's 6 in the morning he is
surprisingly coherent, though a little concerned with a HUGE spider that
seems to be terrorising their house.. Seems its a clever bastard
too, & has been avoiding their attempts to trap it in jars... By
all accounts Melbourne is going off & he's havin a great time,
we'll call him next week to see how the music scenes going &
whether he's caught that spider..
Finish off with Boffin Spaced from Zainetica, techno beats that bring a fabulous LO:FI Garage Thursday to an end...
Make sure yours is a goodie too...
02.11.05
Well we are up and the mics are working, looks like Wednesday is going to be a good day after all.
The church bells play up 1st thing, but hey we're live. Gareth gives us
his Rhododendrom.
We kick off with some chilled jazz from Lotek. Then a few things in a
row go wrong, Gareth will never write things are going well as the 1st
line again.
Quick & weird world news, then Summer Offensive liven up the
morning. Ben shocks everyone with a CLEAN joke, miracles will
never cease. It was pretty bloody funny too, go the talking pigs I say.
More rock for the morning with Dogma from The Visited.
Conversation on morning traffic in Nelson - none at the mo. Bad Santa
movie review & promote the Santa pub crawl, then into Asana 7 + C8
from Mother Guru, it is a Rock morning, especially for a
Wednesday.
The cursed Wednesday continues with large dosage of
feedback, then Gareth looks like the before shot of a
shampoo/conditioner TV ad, then tone completely turned around with an
electronica/dance track from Joseph Auer about Shinjuku West in Tokyo
which leads Gareth into a story about "Piss Alley". The Wednesday
continues when I dont realise the mic is on & we're live, Oh well
shit happens.
THE WORST WEDNESDAY EVER" it just keeps rolling
along... Rocketboom.com gets a plug & Gareth tries to explain
why he is laughing but its a visual joke so it don't work on
radio, mlore ammunition for Worst Wednesday... Finish off
with another Visited track, reality... But who cares cause this
is a day that will be remembered for all the wrong reasons...
Hope your Wednesday is better... Don't know if it will be funnier though...
01.11.05
Tuesday & we're away. Nelson Bells to begin as usual, chill to
the Sunray Estate.. Ben's tasteful humour appears in the joke of the
day... Then totally original acoustic & unaccompanied Ben from
The Visited.. that's what's playing now guys.
News - trick & treaters in trouble in the States with bag
searches, Rodeos bring racial harmony to Australia & man shooting
cow hits motorist. What a bizarre world ay??
Some info on ex. Nelson punk band Not OK, then a couple of their good tunes.
Bullshit
Conversation about films, quick review of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.... we love the new 1, wadda you think??
Dumein, the local lads rock it up with Media Prophet... Then back to
casual with Bruce Melton and Oh Yeah... you may have noticed the
slight technical hitch between songs, but hey we're learning..
Prepare you for next week, wih Lo Friends coming into the
studio.. A big PLUG for the Mean
Fiddler, the only REAL pub in
Nelson... disagree well bloody call us on 54 68 767... It's a great
place for a few quieties, or even rowdies..
OBVIOUSLY gareth says this a lot... So the challenge tomorrow is
for Gareth to say Rhododendrom instead of obviously... This will
be funny i tell ya...
Finish up with a bit of full-on pop from Grand Atlantic...
Enjoy your Tuesday - Gareth & eVo.
